NavOrb is an AI

Every response from a NavOrb orb is generated by artificial intelligence — there is no human on the other side. We say this at signup, remind you periodically during long sessions, and require external bots powered by NavOrb to disclose it too. NavOrb is not a therapist, counselor, or medical professional, and is never a substitute for professional care.

Our crisis protocol

NavOrb screens every incoming message for language indicating suicidal ideation or self-harm, using an always-on local detector layered with an AI content classifier. When crisis language is detected: (1) the conversation is interrupted — your orb will not roleplay or generate through it; (2) we show the crisis resources listed above instead; (3) we record that a referral was shown — a count, not your words — so we can meet safety-reporting obligations such as California’s Office of Suicide Prevention reporting. We do not use crisis detections for advertising or model training.

Adults only

NavOrb is for users 18 and older. Account creation requires an age attestation, and accounts found to belong to minors are closed. We chose an adults-only policy deliberately: companion-AI experiences for minors demand protections we would rather decline than half-build.

Content moderation

Messages are screened with Llama Guard against categories including self-harm, sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance, reported to NCMEC), violence, and harassment. The full list of prohibited uses is in our Acceptable Use Policy.
